Tuskegee Youth Safe Haven Teens

The Tuskegee Safe Haven Teens are involved in their community.  They are concerned about what is going on and what their community needs.  Here are some of their activities:

Elder Meals:  They deliver meals to senior citizens and the disabled in public housing and surrounding neighborhoods.

Nursing Home Visits: They take bags of treats to local Nursing Homes on holidays and conduct performances for the seniors staying there.

Community Development:  They have researched the needs in the Macon County area and attended public meetings to voice concerns.  They have also prepared a list of suggestions and presented them to public officials.

Business Development: As part of their list of needs, the teens have begun to put together businesses to create jobs for the local economy.  These include agribusinesses, technology industry and green businesses.
